Max Payne 3 Multiplayer Info

So we’re a little more than 2 months away from Rockstar’s anticipated release of Max Payne 3.  It’s seems people might be forgetting about the title since the inevitable announcement of Grand Theft Auto 5 appeared, but Rockstar will make sure that’s not the case.

Multiplayer information regarding the title was released just before Christmas.  But for those who missed it, we’ve taken the juicy bits and have them here for you to read.

    • One of the most recognisable features of the Max Payne series, Bullet Time, will make it’s mark in multiplayer along with Shoot Dodge.  Not only does this give players the much needed defensive when avoiding enemy fire, it’ll also allow you and your team the ability to attack by jumping through windows and doorways.
    • Speaking of abilities, multiplayer will also feature Bursts.  These are special abilities that you unlock as you earn XP throughout multiplayer.
      • How about being able to have your opponents team mates show up an enemies?  Paranoia will begin to set in with this Burst.
      • Or being able to be sneaky, and have yourself show up as a friendly to enemy players, allowing you to infiltrate bases and complete tasks or just sneak up and kill them.
  • Gang Wars is a mode in multiplayer that expands on standard objectives and evolves the game around it.  We all know Rockstar are famous for the story driven content, and multiplayer isn’t an exception.
    • Take, for example, the best player in round one.  Round 2 might see a bounty placed on his/her head.
    • You may also find that new territory’s captured in round one now have the most bombs planted in round 2.
    • These type of dynamic changes to the multiplayer modes are enhanced by voice overs by Max himself, ensuring the narrative from single player works in multiplayer too.

Don’t forget to use the #MaxPayne3 hashtag on Twitter for your chance to have your likeness set as a character in multiplayer.
You’ve got until January 13th.

The Max Payne series is one that has always involved amazing story telling, and with a new spin on the graphic novel cut-scenes, Max Payne 3 doesn’t sound like it will disappoint.
